Last weekend we ran a mini fascinator making hen party class in the amazing Craigengar Lodge self catering house in West Calder. We love this place and have actually run a hen party fascinator making class there in the past. The house smelt amazing as we arrived as some of the girls had been busy baking cakes and scones in the morning, meaning my mouth was watering while I set up for the class!
We brought along our large range of materials and the hens were delighted as they saw the huge choice of materials that they had to choose from. After we had taught the hens all the basic techniques they needed to make their fascinators they all spent time choosing the style of fascinator they wanted to make and then the colours and materials they wanted to use. As always it was amazing to see that each of them chose very different designs and styles.
Despite the fact that at the start of the class I overheard a few girls saying “ooohh I’m not very creative” and “…but I can’t sew!” they all produced fantastic fascinators. Some of the girls were making them to wear to the wedding in a couple of weeks time so we can’t wait to see the photos taken on the big day!
Here are some photos of the girls making their pieces and of the finished fascinators!
Thanks to all the girls for booking the class with us – you were such good fun! 🙂
